Members today marks the 20th anniversary of Space Jam, which launched 15th November 1996 – and our sincerest apologies to all you lighties that weren’t around to appreciate it. Described as:
“the happy marriage of good ideas – three films for the price of one, giving us a comic treatment of the career adventures of Michael Jordan, crossed with a looney Tunes cartoon.”
But don’t stress, for those of you who missed it we are going to run you through all you need to know about this film. Firstly and definitely the most G – is that Warner Bros nailed the design of the original website for Space Jam. Better yet is that it’s still up and running and definitely worth a look – Space Jam.
” The original Space Jam website is still live & is so nostalgic!”
Now in our opinion, what really added to the movie’s success is the way it integrated the Looney Tunes in to the story line. In order to fully appreciate what the Looney’s brought to the movie we feel an adequate introduction is required. So take a peek at the clips below to meet the crew!
However there is some good news for all you Jam fans out there – the word on the street is that the sequel, Space Jam 2 is in the pipeline. Starring none other than Lebron James! Now the man has some huge shoes to fill, but the Crooks feel he is up for the challenge.
On a side note: Speaking of shoes to fill – sneaker heads are frothing over the possible release of the new Air Jordan 11 Space Jam!
