Play Of The Week

By Archie / Sports / 11th April 2017

Howzit chaps! So by now we are sure that everyone knows that the seventh round of the Super Rugby season, this past weekend, delivered all the goods in terms of pure entertainment. I mean the Bulls even lost to the Sunwolves – shame, it must suck being a Bulls supporter.

Anyway; there has been a tremendous amount of hype over a couple of tries scored this weekend. Both may have actually been labeled tries of the season by various sources! The best thing about it is that South African teams scored them both.

  • Lionel Cronje (Kings vs Western Force)

  • Dillyn Leyds (Stormers vs Chiefs)

But we at the Crooks feel that there has not been enough recognition given to what we thought was a top contender for try of the weekend. When the big man Charlie Faumuina found himself at first receiver and put the team on his back with a showcase of skill – a little shimmy and the show-and-go to take the ball over the chalk.

“Prop as first receiver. Normally you’d say no. Yes please say Charlie, and he crashes over!”

Yours Sincerely,

Halfway Crooks
